Before having lessons with Gavin, I had done a bit of manual driving. However, I struggled with changing gears smoothly, and I found myself rushing through the motions rather than taking my time.

Once I had started lessons with Gavin, I learnt how to properly control the car and transition smoothly through the gears. Nowadays, I am driving around more confidently, as Gavin has helped me gain confidence in my driving, by teaching me the correct way to drive a manual car and also encouraging me to be patient and to not be afraid to take my time.

When I first started driving at 16 years old, I was an incredibly nervous driver, conscious of my driving abilities and my inexperience.

Lessons with Gavin not only boosted my confidence and driving skills but prepared me incredibly well for all situations and conditions drivers face on the roads.

Gavin’s extensive experience as a police officer and driving instructor speaks volumes for his ability to carefully and caringly instruct learner drivers who are just starting out on their driving journey.

He cares for both the driving abilities of his students, as well as for their wellbeing, teaching to the abilities of every student and building incredible rapport with them and their families.

I am incredibly grateful for my driving experiences with Gavin. From a nervous 16-year-old to a confident P-plater, my confidence and comfort behind the wheel has grown more than I ever could have imagined it would, without his guidance. I have also found a love for driving manual cars and understanding the obligations of all drivers on the road.

Driving a manual car for the first time is stressful, and I always felt apprehensive getting in the car as a learner.

I started lessons with Gavin, who was calm and very clear in his explanations. His experience and knowledge helped me to better understand how to drive efficiently and safely.

Now, I love driving manual cars- I am lucky I was taught by Gavin, as I now drive manual 4x4s as a part of my job in mining (both underground and open pit).
